Editorial & Corrections Policy

Standards for accuracy, independence and clear loan comparisons — plus how we fix mistakes.

Primary sources first

Rate observations come from lender-owned public pages. We preserve the source link, verification date and relevant terms instead of substituting an estimated market rate.

Independent rankings

Organic ordering is controlled only by the visible sort and filter choices. Compensation, potential commercial relationships and lender requests do not change rank.

No invented certainty

We distinguish note rate from annual percentage rate, label missing data, keep low-confidence or stale observations outside default rankings, and never imply approval, availability, endorsement or a guaranteed result.

Review

Rate pages identify their verification date. Educational material carries an editorial byline and review date. Material changes are documented below.

Corrections: when a rate appears wrong

We recheck the lender-owned source, product mapping, eligibility notes and verification date. While a material issue is unresolved, the observation is removed from default rankings or clearly labeled.

How corrections appear

A corrected row receives the actual re-verification date and revised notes. We do not change dates merely to make content look fresh. Dataset versions are retained so a published snapshot can be reconstructed.

Editorial corrections

Material factual errors in articles and educational content are corrected promptly and the correction is dated. Clarifications that do not change the underlying conclusion may be updated without changing the original source record.

Report an issue

Send suspected rate errors or editorial mistakes to the contact details on the Contact page. We review every report, recheck the source, and resolve the item under this policy.
